I however as a former coach disagree with you training with your athletes. how can you be giving them all the attention that they deserve especially with such limited training time as we have here in the mid west. I know that the coaches at the top programs such as burke, ski club vail, or aspen have some great former athletes on staff but they dont train with their athletes ever. They may make a turn or two to demonstrate a skill but thats the end of it other than free skiing. I also cant believe you are comfortable making the comment about grumpy coaches at the bottom barking orders. i havent witnessed that around the mid west at all. Seems to me you are just trying to justify your desire to train which in my opinion is fine but if my child was an athlete in your program i would want it to be on your time not the other athletes time.
